In October the Maclynn team was thrilled to be part of the Matchmaking Institute’s first ever visit to London.
The Matchmaking Institute offers training and resources for new and experienced matchmakers all over the world. The 3-day course was both for individuals looking to become matchmakers as well as for established matchmakers looking to learn how to grow their business and help more people find love. The training course took place in London from 17th – 19th October 2014 and covered, among many subjects, the psychology of matchmaking as well as how to effectively network & publicise your business.
Lisa Clampitt the founder and president of the Matchmaking Institute and Paul C Brunson also known as the modern day “Hitch”, came to train aspiring matchmakers from around the world. Lisa has made it her life work to transform this industry into one that is professional, ethical and regulated. Having met her during both my trips to New York this year, I am excited to now be working with Lisa and her inspiring team.
London played host to delegates from Switzerland, Spain and Hong Kong to name a few. We were delighted to have our very own new Maclynn recruit Laiz Costa fly in to take part in this formal training to enhance her skills and hear from respected leaders in the business. As a member of the Advisory Board of the Matchmaking Institute I was invited to deliver advanced training in the psychology of matchmaking, something we pride ourselves on here at Maclynn.
The course also included a networking event at a wonderful French Bistro in the heart of Marylebone village where Jo and Leila, two of our top matchmakers from the London Maclynn team, joined us to mingle with guests, fellow mathmakers, dating coaches and other industry affiliates from around the world. It was exciting to be networking with such a dynamic group all dedicated to championing professionalism in our industry.
